Matthew 24:30–31 KJV
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Revelation 19:9 KJV
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Topic:
Do You Have Your Invitation?
Matthew 24:30–31 KJV
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
The signs are here. They are telling us that Jesus’ return is imminent.
Jesus told his disciples that the temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed.
They got a lot curious and asked Jesus when the temple would be destroyed, when would be the sign of his coming, and when would be the end of the world.
Three separate things, I find it interesting because Jesus singularly was talking about the destruction of the temple.
But I believe that the disciples was curious to hear about what Daniel prophesied about.
Daniel prophesied about the judgement of the nations:
Daniel 7:9–10 KJV
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
Daniel 7:13–14 KJV
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
This last passage of scripture speaks of Jesus.
Look at verse 18:
Daniel 7:18 KJV
But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
There is another verse to consider:
Daniel 12:1–3 KJV
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
The Lord tells Daniel that Michael, the arch-angel shall stand up, and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.
Jesus references this in Matthew 24:21-22
Matthew 24:21–22 KJV
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
Dearly beloved and I need the young people to hear this and hear it good. A day is coming, where there will be a great tribulation, there will be great anguish, so great that the world has never experienced anything like it in all of its history!
Jesus is telling his disciples, he is answering their questions. When will the temple be destroyed? When are you coming back? When will be the end of the world?
And a great tribulation is the precursor and believe it or not, you can see the signs, we are on the brink of it even now. Things are being set in order RIGHT NOW for it to happen. There are secret councils and plans that are being put in order right now for this to happen. You may not be able to see it with your eyes, but if you know what to look for, you can see it.
And Jesus declared in verse 22 “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
Children, Young People, Adults, Elderly, that’s why we need to make sure we are SAVED RIGHT NOW!!!!
Look at how our society is deteriorating. How people’s morals are at an all time low. Look at how many people no longer associate themselves with God or with a church in general. We have people within our own congregation that refuse to come to church, they haven’t stepped back in church since the pandemic started.
And truth be told, the back-slidding started before the pandemic.
Jesus said in verse 10 of Matthew 24 that many shall be offended, the NASB says “many will fall away”, the NLT says “many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other.”
The reality for some is that they no longer feel the same about Jesus like they use to. That is a scary thing, and many are deceiving themselves thinking that they are alright when in reality they have grown cold.
Everything is going cyber now, now we have Cyber Church where you don’t have to be in church, you can just watch it from home. You need to know, that we didn’t set up streaming for you to sit at home and watch a service. We set it up to reach the unsaved, we set it up so that if you cannot make it to church, you’ll have a way to still get the word.
But even now people don’t want the word, they want to hear the singing and the shouting is over, the cut the broadcast off. We see it in the church, after the singing and shouting is over, people will tune the word of the Lord out, I know that some people have to leave to go to work, but unless you have to work, or unless it is an emergency, it is a great dis-service to God, and an insult to God……when he sends a message for you to hear and you disregard it.
Consider another scripture:
Matthew 24:14 KJV
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
The gospel has to be preached in every nation. That is being achieved not only by missionaries going into the world to preach the gospel, but the internet is a vehicle in which the gospel is being delivered to the masses.
YET, this same internet is the same vehicle in which Jesus says in verse 11 that “Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many!”
Just tell someone…..we almost there!
Matthew 24:29–31 KJV
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
The question that we have to ask ourselves is this: Am I REALLY the chosen of God?
How do I know if I’m chosen by God?
2 Corinthians 1:22 KJV
Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Ephesians 1:13 KJV
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
When God gives you the earnest of the Spirit in your hearts, when he fills you with the Holy Ghost, the earnest is God’s guarantee. It is a down-payment a portion of that which he promises to give to you…..eternal life.
But if you are not careful, you can nullify the guarantee, just like you can nullify a warranty.
THE THING THAT WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT JESUS IS COMING AND HE IS COMING SOON!!!
Hebrews 9:27–28 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
The first time Jesus came, he came to deal with our sins by dying for our sins.
But for the believer when he comes back again for us, he’s not coming back to deal with our sins, he’s coming back to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.
So now the question is “are you eagerly awaiting for Him, or are you going on with life as “business as usually”.
That’s why Jesus says:
Luke 21:34 KJV
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
You don’t have time to be playing russian roulette with your souls!
Don’t let that day come upon you unawares, don’t let Jesus come back for the church and you are out of the church, don’t let Jesus come back and you’re living in sin!
Let’s close with this passage of scripture:
There is coming a day that Daniel prophesied about:
Daniel 12:2 KJV
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
John the Revelator recorded in The Book of Revelation:
Revelation 20:5–6 KJV
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 KJV
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
This is the first resurrection. And only the saved, only the true believers who have died will rise during this time. But the rest who died out of the LORD, those who refuse to repent of their sins, those who reject Jesus, they won’t get up until the second resurrection.
AND THE BIBLE SAYS…
Revelation 20:11–15 KJV
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 19:9 KJV
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Do you have your invitation? Jesus has given out a great invitation to all to come unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
JESUS started giving out invitations when he died for you. If you believe that he died for you, if you believe that he rose again, if you believe he died to forgive you of your sins and you accept and receive the forgiveness of sins that he offers.
When you are invited to a wedding usually you have to RSVP.
How do I RSVP? Acts 2:38
Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Once he seals you, that is your invitation
Who is Jesus going to marry? His bride! His bride is the CHURCH!!!
Revelation 22:12–13 KJV
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Last Scripture:
Revelation 22:17 KJV
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
